Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on [enter relevant date].

We at [enter organization / business name] are working to make our site [enter site name and  address] accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

At Black Quill we believe that our resources should be available to everyone. We are committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all users, regardless of ability or technology.

Our Commitment

We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities.

Key Accessibility Features

To help you navigate our books and resources easily, we have implemented:

  • High-Contrast Text: We use clear fonts and colour ratios that are easy on the eyes and readable for those with visual impairments RNIB.org.uk.

  • Keyboard Navigation: Our site can be fully navigated without a mouse, using "Tab" and "Enter" keys.

  • Alt Text for Images: All book covers and illustrations include descriptive "Alt Text" so screen readers can describe them to you Scope.org.uk.

  • Descriptive Links: We avoid "click here" and use descriptive labels so you know exactly where a link will take you.

Ongoing Improvements

While we aim for full accessibility, we know there is always room to grow. We regularly test our site to identify and fix potential barriers.
